Synonyms for "horrible" in "horrible weather"?

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by lameri, May 14, 2011.

    This is the sentence:
The next day, under horrible weather, we went on a tour to a property with a representative from the host agency.

Is there a word that means "horrible" and is typically used just for weather?
    Thank you.

    How about foul weather?

Or instead of the generic word "weather", how about something more specific:

The next day, whipped by torrential rain and wind gusts, we toured the property with a host agent.

    horrendous
    horrid
    relentless

I prefer Cogito's sentence were the word 'weather' is not mentioned.
