Naming your MC

    Wow that's really creative Joe!! Like no joke! I stare around but i've never been able to like see an object and think of a cool name like that.

    as a general thing I prefer names that are not common, because uncommon names are harder to forget.

    then again, the story might be better with a MC with a common name, and sometimes exotic names are hard to pronounce and easier to forget that name like 'Bob'.

    what I think is useful is picking a name that has many different permutations.

    Cassandra can be shortened to Cassie

    Nicholas can be Nick or Nicky

    Robert can be Rob, Robbie, or Bob

    when making lots of references to the character I get tired of writing out their names a bunch, so them having a mutating name for me is cool

    I honestly find a name and build a character around it
