I didn't start at midnight. I went to bed early so I could join the 5am writer's club. I got up on time, but only managed to get an hour of writing in. I did 643 words, which is about what I expected. I'm hoping that if I can write for three hours each day, and average 600 words per hour, I can do this!

I can't wait to get started!!! I'm hoping to crank out 3000 words today. That's about 2 chapters for me. It's tough but I think it can be done. I can imagine being done with my second book in just one month!

How is everyone's first day of Camp going? Anyone want to share their word count progress?

I have only just been able to start writing for today so can't really say how much progress I will make just yet unfortunately.

Don't worry, a lot of people can feel this way, inspiration has a habit of turning up when you least expect it. Do you have any project in mind that you would like to work on? An old project you have been meaning to restore or restart? Inspiration can even come from an old character that you have put to the side? Or perhaps watch a film, read a book, or play a console/pc game (if that's something you are into) to see if anything inspires you that way. The idea for my Dissertation's creative piece came to me when one day when I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy, then watched the film version, and then spent an hour playing the game Skyrim. Perhaps just spend today finding and exploring your inspiration.

I know I want to write something Science Fiction. I've been reading and playing Destiny for the past few days. Maybe if I play Minecraft or Terraria, you know games that don't take all of my thoughts lol :) thanks for the help!

So how has everyone's first three days of Camp gone?

Mine have been rather busy externally so I haven't been able to write as much as I would have liked to. Should be able to write more from now on though :)

673 words so far. Didn`t get much writing time this week but hope to make that up in sprints today.

Any progress is still progress so don't worry too much about having a slow writing week; it happens to the best of us. I haven't been able to write as much as I would like to either but I am hoping to catch up as well :)

Grrrr... guess now I am a bit jealous of you guys.

I can't participate - got a vacation planned which lasts for two weeks, starting next Friday. And so the rest of the month of April will be gone and I wouldn't have the chance to make it through :(
Still worse: I can't make July Camp, another vacation!! And I guess next April will be the same with holiday.. so when will I finally have a chance?? *headscratch*

Will see and make up my mind later :) Sounds like Nov is more serious than the camps and I am not sure I like the sound of 'serious' ;)

I'm glad you are enjoying Camp :) That's what it is there for, haha. I am up to 6,201 words now into my 14,500 word count (I know I originally set myself a 15,500 word count but I had forgotten that for the Poetry assignment I am working on I had already written 1,000 words for it so had to take that off of the word count goal) so I am getting there at last though still not as far along as I hoped to be by now but I'm sure I will catch up soon enough

Been missing quite a few days, I don't even want to see how far behind I am. Life, discouragement and lack of motivation has played a large role in me not being able to produce. I am really hoping that I can salvage what I have and push through until the end of the month without changing my word goal.
    here's to hoping!!

9 more days left until Camp ends! Kind of sad that it is going by so quickly but at least there is always July's Camp :)
    Good luck everyone!

Well, I am 12,799 words into my 14,500 word count goal with only 4 days left of Camp but I'm afraid that I will fall at the last hurdle as I have come down hard with a cough/cold/flu bug :(

How is everyone else getting on this close to the end?

Wooooohooo I finished! it was a crazy push at the end, I had over 20000 words to do in less than a week. I never thought that I would get it done but I did. Would you believe that even with 80000+ words down, I still haven't finished my second novel? Soon, Maybe tomorrow.
Congrats to all those who participated in Camp NanoWrimo
