Neosage the name, and Spells are my game

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Neosage, Feb 20, 2011.

Hi folks! I've just gotten myself into writing again because I guess I'm becoming deep again. I hope to make new friends here as you all probably hope to too who share the same interest we all do I guess.

So without further ado, I'll let this impromptu introductory poem introduce me:

The physical realm is as complicated as ever,
In an unequivocal represented state of confusion,
For quenching the thirst of mass fever,
Thriving in the unambiguous sense of delusion,

There stands a passive unaltered man,
A sage no less from no other of the new era,
Representing a voice of reality as he can,
A modern pseudo-synchronicity from the meta,

He shouts, "Stand tall from the foes,"
"Thou shall slay all thy evil in thy cage,"
"For art thou beautiful in every way"
"For am the Sage of the new world, Neosage,"

Rather bleak these days actually, that's why I'm getting deep again I guess.

But hey, a princess welcomed me so I can't complain :D, maybe all's you need is a good spell or two to get you back on your feet eh?

To the silver dragon flying overhead with a cautious but welcoming look in her eyes and Gigi, another being accompanying the dragon, the Sage stood fast unperturbed, drop his staff and yells,

"I am but a humble servant to this nature's law, and to thy servants of this world, I thank you for welcoming me!" he bows gentle to them in an offer of peace...

Sorry to hear that, hope things improve. :)

Aye, I'll just wave my magic wand and cast a spell or two and all will be all right. ;)

Tis a frivolous banter that has passed my ears or tis was true?!

A fellow mage in the midst of this chaos? Who knew the web and err and flow of mana?

Aye, this will be a grand adventure indeed! Lead me to your mana pool fellow magic friend! I will gladly teach you what I have learned through the ages but I wish to learn your own mana flow as well!

I would like to begin casting the spell of flow, rhyme and rhythm to protect ourselves from scrutiny and embezzlement of the mind! So let's begin casting the poetry spell! "Poetriaza!"

P.S.: Yes, I love symbolism. Mana could mean anything from society, culture, knowledge, philosophy, etc. And mage could mean those who understand them.

Hey nathanael! Dont mention it! A fellow poet is a fellow mage as well :D

Well keep commenting your poems when I hav the time, exams coming >.<"

@Eunoia: Ah tis a pleasure to meet such a fine lady who respects the epiphany of adventure! Tis my true love, but a humble mage like me could ever dream to achieve in reality.

Tis not wrong if it shakes the mind to learn of meanings of my humble words, princess, I am but a humble servant and my words mean many to a few, and far more to the masses!

P.S.: Would love to see some of your works too :D

@ArtWander: Ah, thank you my dear friend! What art art' thou wandering about today?! XD

Send some of thou works my way!

    MY FIRST SPELL!!!

Hello Neosage, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

Please read How to Use the Writing Workshop before you post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog.

Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Writing Workshop, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate.

As for the Writing Workshop, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Writing Workshop forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Writing Workshop forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out the RPG forum for improvisational fiction. Also try our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
