    Outer Dark by McCarthy

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by Evil Flamingo, Nov 20, 2009.

I know this an older novel (1968 to be exact), but I recently found it in the Cormac McCarthy shelf of B&N and decided on it as a "oh what the hell, it looks interesting" kind of buy. I really enjoyed it, especially the dialogue and the very dark description of the early 20th century times. I also liked the very disturbing, and very McCarthy, ending to it. I was just wondering if anyone else had read this and had any thoughts on it.

I just looked at a brief synopsis, and I must say that it seems like typical McCarthy (which is a good thing since he's one of my favorite writers). I guess I'll check it out.
