Hello writers, I'm hoping that I can get some useful insight into the writing process here, in terms of motivation and getting over those lulls in time during which we don't feel too compelled to write. I'm just starting to work on a novel, something I've tried to do before, but have never been able to get much further than ten pages or so. I've taken several courses at the MFA level, but I was never that dedicated. I sent a few short stories off to literary journals (and "Esquire", which I received a rejection letter: Nicely written story, but not quite right for us.), but never got published. I feel pretty confident about what I'm writing now, and more motivated than I have ever been. It isn't genre fiction, which seems to be the most popular on these forums; but I think the feedback will be worthwhile! Rock on, Mamfe Man.
