Hey, just started trying to write, have always had ideas but never committed to actually writing. 17 year old boy here, pretty casual.
I see that you are casual indeed. Welcome to the madhouse! This is a great forum, IMO. You should check out https://www.writingforums.org/threads/new-member-quick-start-guide.132102/. And the rules. I recommend putting questions in the "creative writing" section where much of the activity takes places. It's a great place to get advice and discuss creative writing theory. Have fun. See you around! Oscar out!
One of my biggest regrets is that I waited until my mid-30s to start writing. Let me congratulate you on starting such a rewarding and enriching hobby so young. Best of luck. May I suggest that you jump in with both feet. Write a short story. Get started. Get the words flowing. To hell with your concerns that it won't be any good. They don't matter. All that matters is the writing.
On behalf of the staff, welcome to WF! I hope our forum will help you progress on your writing journey. I guess one of the more difficult things in writing is to actually get started, so congratulations for taking that step. See you around! -Kat
Welcome to the forums! It's great that you're looking to start writing - I, too, am an amateur writer, and this site has helped me a lot already! I'll second what others have said: spend some time in the "creative writing" part of the forum (my favorite place on this site) and just start writing!
