Hello all. My name is John Franklin, but you can call me Franklin. I'm a published (poetry) writer who's currently in the final revisions of a two volume novel, Bastard of Chivalry. The first volume is a coming-of-age story centered around the main character's pursuit of love. The second volume is meta-fiction, about transcendence through art. I look forward to reading others' work and being a part of this community. Cheers.
WoW welcome to the board. It looks like you have a lot of experiences to share. Settle right in and check out the forum rules and you'll get by just fine. There are a lot of people that will enjoy a new person critiquing their work in the workshop.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate the welcome. I've done online workshops in the past, so I'm sure I'll fit right in.
Welcome! After all of this heat, I sure wish I was in The Windy City, rather than Dallas (The Devil's Ass Crack) right about now. But you could have it back once winter hits.
Welcome to the forum. Oh, so you're from Earth's Chicago? I wonder what it's like in those extraterrestial Chicagos... Here's our New Member Quick Start to get you started. Great to have you here! See you around! -Kat
Also, I didn't know we aren't supposed to use our real names as our user names. But I can't figure out how to change mine. Can you advise me on this?
Oh, it's totally ok to use your real name. However, if you want to change it, please contact our Operations Manager, @Wreybies; he can fix it. Here's a thread about the topic: Your Screen Name vs. Real Name
Welcome to the forum Congratulations on your publication sucess so far. I still haven't finished my first novel yet, so I have yet to take the plunge. It's nice to see a sucess story, gives a little hope.
Oh, thank you very much. Though I've only published poems, and a chapbook of poems by a small publisher. I've just finished the latest revisions on a two volume novel--and now I don't know what to do with myself--which is one of the reasons I joined this forum. Until very recently, I was 100% certain I'd self-publish my novels. What are your thoughts on self-publishing? And what is your novel about?
Hi! I am so glad that you cleared that up. I was about to think you were from Chicago, Mars (badly adapted Martian Chronicles reference. ). Welcome!
