Not sure if this belongs here, but length of story?

Whats the considered "okay" for lengths in various genres?

I've taken recently to multiplying the number of pages in a book by 250 and you get a rough word count and i know fantasy goes from like 70,000 to George Martins insane amounts, but i'm curious about the average.

Like does a romance/horror/thriller/ book over/under a certain number of pages put you off reading?

just google for 'standard fiction word counts'... you'll get a variety of numbers, but for first novels by new and unknown writers, most publishers want 80-100k... fantasy or sci-fi can go a bit more, romance a bit less... YA is also generally shorter...
