Lancaster UK or Lancaster USA? If it was in the UK, then yeah, it's a really nice place. The park is gorgeous and walking along the canal can be lovely.
UK, of course! Still got some pictures of the castle somewhere. Relatives of some old friends of my grandmother lived there, so they played tour guide for me. Did a road trip once around the Lake District as well. As for the US Lancaster (in Pennsylvania), I've been through there - and there's a big writing conference that goes on in May that I missed so far, unfortunately. It's Amish country around there, so people riding horse-carriages and women and girls wearing bonnets is quite common.
