    How active is this forum?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by bossfearless, Jan 23, 2014.

So, I'm a new member. Hi. Hola. All that jazz. One of the things I was wondering is if these forums tend to be active with a healthy population of participating members, or if this is one of those forums where the mod are always on and that's about it.

A bit of both! :p I'm usually here because I work from home and there is a goodly bit of activity. ;) It can be a little misleading at times since a large number of member prefer to set their login to "invisible" so y0u don't see that their online for whatever reason. For instance, not really sure how many members you see online right now, but there are 33 when I just looked now.

You see the same people around a lot, but those people are usually very active. And there is a pretty good rotation of users on throughout the day. You can look at the 'new posts' under 'quick links' at the top left to get an idea of how many posts happen over a couple hours.

    Welcome to the forum btw!

It can get pretty active at times, especially when there is a heated debate going on over something. Other times it can be dead. Usually, it just depends on what time of day you log on. Like me, I'm on Eastern Time, so when I log on before work there's hardly anyone on because the west coaster's haven't gotten up yet. By the time I get home there will be a slew of new posts.

    It's pretty active.
You won't see threads buried five pages under in a minute but they still move back and forth during the day.
    Nice and healthy, like.

I've been here for.. 4-5 months?
500+ posts from near daily activity.
    Not too shabby, imo.

Mind you, I only participate so much.
    Look at friggin' @Cogito ...
    It's crazy.

But we get users from all over, so the activity is pretty constant.
Though, I find that evening time for me (-6GMT, I think) it gets pretty dead until midnight ish when it picks up again.

    Mid-morning is pretty busy.
Also, depends on what activities you join and who is in the discussion.
I know some user reply to one another like mad.
    Little wars.

It depends on where you hang out. We got the Debate forum that gets a lot of action, the RP forum as well. The Workshop is pretty active as well as the Lounge.

33 huh? I'd say hat seems to be aboutaverage as far as the forums I hang out on. No wonder I come here and feel like I'm in a class room-- albeit a very fun, very informative class room. ha ha!

I'll have to agree with JJ here. It mainly depends on where you hang out and how often. There are plenty of members throughout the day. Don't expect facebook or twitter levels of activity. Unlike those people, most of us lead lives outside of the internet, otherwise we don't share every other breath we take. (You can trust I'm still alive if I don't post in five minutes, but if it reaches ten check on me!)

You know, what you're doing with that body... you breath air, walk around, eat, maybe go outside for a minute to glare at your neighbors and shake your fists at kids.

It consists of the short path I make from the computer to the freezer for a Hot Pocket and back to the computer.

I find this place nicely active. Not so much so you couldn't keep up with the threads if you don't log in for a day or two, but not too dead either. Some rooms and threads are more active than others, understandably. I think the size of this place allows a newcomer to join the community and not get totally lost, yet we aren't too cliqueish either and won't turn against you en masse if you said you like pineapples in your pizza.

I agree with KaTrian. I think it's fairly active, but not so overly much that if you miss a few days or a week you can't catch up.

Welcome, Boss -- look forward to your participation.
