    On the other side

    So laughable, you thought
    that they might understand,
the flames that are burning only in you.
You thought they too might feel them,
that they could cure the pain,
    but it wasn't unexpected,
when had they ever seen the truth?

    To cross to their land,
    you need to forget suffering,
    let yourself be distracted,
    believe in the non-existent,
    see what isn't there,
    hear when everything is quiet,
speak though you have nothing to say.

Don't ever think that the burning
might stop or that it could be
    anything but yours alone.
    Accept your duty-bound suffering,
your death before your heart stops beating.

    A roaring, twisting, reaching beast
From simple beginings your beauty is revealed
Your embers dance on wind and breath
    What souls you have carried
Both bringer and deliverer of death

A guide, a weapon, a bringer of life
A friend against both the cold and night

The heart of stars and the lightning's fury
Beside mankind has been your journey.

    Born From Kindle

    Born from kindle
    Tiny pinpoints of life
    Young embers transform
    Into flickering lights

    Small lakes of fire
    Growing ripples emerge
    They rise and fall
    Like waves before storms

    The fire ignites
    A hypnotic dance
    Consume the timber
    Leaving nothing but ash

    The eternal flames
    Embraces with the touch
    The of carnage and passion
    Of heat and the rage

Embers die then back to life
    Reincarnation or natures blight
There and back again it comes and goes
Singe my lungs, breathe in the glow
Fire is life, or so I'm told
The fickleness reflected, just another in the row

    Assembly line flickers
    Sparks fly out
    An ember has died
    There is no way out

    Rising.

    Aged, old, dry and weary
    Not long for this world.
My life is about to pass by
For the final time, my wings, I unfurl.

    The warmth enters my feet
And works its way through my being.
    Gathering momentum and speed
Taking away all the bad feelings.

    The heat engulfs my body
Like the burn of a thousand matches.
    A phoenix from the flames
    Rising from the ashes.

    Rebirthed, renewed to live again
With the strength of a brand new dawn.
Gone is the old, the dry and the weary
    A new life, is reborn.

    Forest Fire

    These flaring flames
    They singe the brows
    But who's to blame?
    Its over now

    What a shame
    It went too fast
    Without a name
    Again

    This blinding light
    It hurts the eyes
    The sparks of fright
    What if I Die?

    Just not right
    Too hot to cry
    Without a fight
    Again

    The burning coals
    And all they see
    Leave burning holes
    All over me

    There's the crows
    There in the tree
    And who would know?
    A Gain.

Following the footprints in the sand...
    Pyre

Venus ascending in the indigo creeping.
    Boreal flame, a halo, burning.
    Silhouettes, mounded, secrets keeping.

The sea, bitter and lapping, upon the stones.
    A lone shadow lingers,
all knees and elbows, knobby bones.

    Driftwood smolders, boreal fire.
    Pages cinder, curling...she rejoices.
For this is termial artifice's pyre.
