Yeah, I had two that were brothers. Curly was mine and Flobb was my brothers lol (he was a brown ratty) but Flobb got a tumor a couple years later and died :( and then about a month later curly died. I think he was broken hearted, i remember hearing him whimpering in the corner of his cage when flobby died.

Aww. That's so sad. Spiffy and Spunky got tumors as well. Poor Spunks was as mean as a snake after Spiffy died.

"Cancer in rats is not very common and this area on her where the mass is located is classic mammary tumor and this is the exact age they begin to grow. They are fueled by accelerated rising of estrogen that occurs after the estrus cycle stops, which starts from 18 months
and older. These tumors pop up anywhere a mammary gland is located and the area your rat has her mass is where a mammary gland is. These tumors are almost always benign and even if they are malignant, 99 percent of the time they are encapsulated and are not known to invade the internal organs and spread.
They can grow at an astonishing rate and can get the size of an egg before you know it. Removing them before they do is best so they are not super vascular but the surgery is almost non invasive as these tumors literally peel from the rats body."

    Google. :)

Yeah, my rat's tumor got HUGE. I felt so bad for it. I always tried to convince my mom to take it to the vet, but she always said no. :(

Yeah :( even the vet said it's useless because he'd probably die in the night and all he could offer was to put him to sleep. Mind you, i was alot younger when i had the rats so my mum kept that from me 'til later.

It was weird actually, i remember crying in school because i somehow knew he'd died o_O
    10 year old psychic haha.

haha. well, I was a lot younger too. Around ten or eleven, and we were on our way back from a church thing where the sermon was about one of those "faith of a mustard seed" things, so I prayed that the tumor would be gone. I was crushed when it wasn't. A few days later, I found her dead under her little wheel.

Ooohhh how awful :( That's the worst thing about pets. You love them so much but then you have to let them go. Wish they could last forever.

I think my husband would disagree on that. I think he is looking forward to Haplo going.

Love that Collie Carmina... what a ham!

I miss my chihuahua Taco. He liked to rub his butt on the floor after he pooped, but I loved the little guy.

He is actually the world's biggest Sheltie, but he is a ham. He knows what a camera is.

It wasn't a good week in my household. I didn't talk to my mother for at least a month.

    For sure.

Our chihuahua was from a abusive home previous to ours. So, he had quite the personality. Very sensitive, but calm. He never ran around yapping like a lot a small dogs are prone to doing.

Other than my son, I was the only man he would go near. He would hide under the bed if a man came in the house. He was my snuggle bug though. :)

I sure miss my little guy.
