    Collaborative Story!

Discussion in 'Word games' started by Cyrano, Oct 7, 2009.

Here we go. We are all gonna write a little story here. But here's the catch. We can all only write a paragraph at a time. We'll start with what I post. The next person to post adds a paragraph onto the story. And the next person adds onto that. Etc. Etc.

-Try to limit your paragraph to only a couple sentences.
-You can post multiple times, as long as your posts aren't consecutive.

Be imaginative, good luck, and have fun!

Elmo Rachmaninov had simple goals in life. Get an okay job, find a pretty enough girl, start a happy little family, and melt into the monotony of suburbia. He had thought that with his acceptable features and decent intelligence, this would be easy enough to do. But there was a problem.

    Elmo Rachmaninov was gay.

The expectations set upon him by family and society were in direct conflict
with what he knew was going to make him happy. His Norman Rockwell picture of
suburban life - pretty wife, two kids, backyard barbecues with 'the guys' - was
a puzzle piece that just would not fit. His mother's bridge club gals had paraded
a bewildering array of young and attractive daughters for his inspection. Always
he found an excuse, some reason why this one wasn't right for him, though a
number of the young lady's seemed to be textbook perfect.

Strangely, a funny looking girl caught his she attention. Though she was not model material, something about her lit a fire in him, and one night he brought her up to Lookout Point. He began to plant kisses on her, and then put his hands up her shirt. Then, inadvertently, his knee disengaged the emergency brake, and the car rolled down off the edge and down the steep grade. The door swung open and he thought about jumping.

He would have jumped for his life, but the thought of the girl made him not. He thought that he should not leave her behind even if he's gay, for life is something not to be wasted. While he thought about this, the girl had jumped out of the car. He was shocked and thought about his decision. The thought of the girl jumping out of the car when he did not want to jump, angered him. He swore a couple of times and managed to jump out.

The first thing he felt was a blast of pain on the back of his head. Then, his body tumbled over and over again. Suddenly the word stopped spinning, and in the darkness he saw the girl lying still, facedown with her arm bent across her back. He got up and stumbled over to her and she seemed alright. Her eyes fluttered open and she screamed. He looked back and the car hung overhfead, the a tangle of branches supporting its weight, but snapping. The car fell towards them with frightening speed.

Elmo grabbed the girl. James-Bond style, he pulled her in a series of flips and ended up just outside where the car was falling. He breathed deeply, only to realize that the trees the car had fallen from were now falling themselves. He picked up the girl and ran for both their lives.
