    Great point. Screenwriters don't work cheap.

    no, they don't!... looks like the answer to my question would've been 'no' if the poster had bothered to provide one... :rolleyes:

    it amazes me that so many who haven't a clue about the film industry think they can get someone to write their script for them for nothing but 'credits' and maybe a split on the back end, not facing the fact that it means months of slogging, full-time work taken away from their own stuff and that the chances of it ever being sold/optioned, much less ever being made or released, are less than slim to none...

    wga basic minimums for a screenplay are currently around $50-100k... non-members will charge less, usually... but still way up there in the tens of thousands...

    you can check out the various fee permutations/conditions at Writers Guild of America, West under 'writers resources' / 'contracts & compensation' ...
