    How To Critique Fiction

Discussion in 'Revision and Editing' started by assassins creed, Jul 9, 2008.

I have just come across this website (www.crayne.com) which I think would be very useful to everyone who is writing Novels or even Short Stories. It gives you good advice as well as a better understanding of how to look at your own work from a critics point of view. Look it and I bet you will not be disappointed.

That's kind of interesting. I looked at her(?) rundown of how to critique a story and it's almost exactly the way I myself used to critique, even if I wasn't consciously focusing on specifics (like, instead of thinking, "Plot, conflict, characterization, etc...." I thought of it as a whole, but did focus on specifics when needed).

Well, nice to know I was doing it right. :D The way some writers reacted I thought I was doing it wrong!
