I noticed that you can edit your post only within 30 minutes of posting it. I think it would be more awesome if there were no limit. There are some things which I would like to change and add in my previous posts but cannot because of this limit.
That time limit vanishes as you stay around , I think it is about the time of being 'Senior Member' that it vanishes (or lengthens so much that it gets unnoticeable).
It extends as of graduation from New Member to Member. The reason it exists has everything to do with spambots. It's a common spambot tactic to have the Queen Spambot lay her eggs in a forum, those eggs hatch, make perfectly innocent posts that don't trip the software's spambot killing subroutines, and then come back once the coast is clear and edit the posts to include spammy spam facehuggers. Hence, the 30 min limit for New Members.
Well, now that it's explained in THOSE terms - Yay, Edit Limitations! No Face Huggers! Down with Alien Parasites! ETA: Get away from her you Bitch!!!
Okay, I know this is an emotional moment for all of us, okay? I know that. But let's not make snap judgments, please. This is clearly... clearly an important species we're dealing with and I don't think that you or I, or *anybody*, has the right to arbitrarily exterminate them.
My mommy always said there were no monsters - no real ones - but there are. (thank god for @Wreybies and his intrepid band of space marines moderators )
