I've done a bit of GMing here and it fell apart so I've already learnt quite a bit from that.

That's great you've been a GM already, high five to you!

Yeah, it's very disappointing when a game doesn't work. But don't let that stop you from trying again. :) Some of the best games here have been re-boots from the past or an idea from an older RP recreated in a new, fresh way.

THE OFFICIAL GM GUIDE PART 1

Rule number 1: Is that you gotta have fun

Rule number 2: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer

Rule number 3: Pick a part every player in someway but most of all the weakest and most innocent characters

Rule 4: Characters named Nick are always shot in the leg or knee

Rule 5: When in doubt about how the plot is going, blow something in the game up.

Rule 6: Nothing is ever personal
    it is

Rule 7: Be a sadist as the story thrives off the pain of the players and their characters. Be sure to sweeten your tea with their tears and sleep to their screams of anguish.

    :)

    :p

    @halisme

    But really.

If you ever need any help or anything or pointers, please feel free to ask any of us :). I think at the end of the day everyone finds their own style of GMing as they do with writing or drawing or anything. But yeah!

Will be glad to help with whatever ya need! :D

I might rerun it later, but I've got one in the works at the moment and might post the character creation system, leaving out race, to see how broken a character people can make and see if it needs adjustment.

    King forgot to mention

Rule 8: If you are Co-GM, and the GM is not around, blow up the dorms without his permission

Rule 9: Don't join any totally original and awesome WW2 Supernatural RPs >: (

Rule 10: Oh, and my personal favorite, say you will join your buddies zombie rp and then dont post even once

Anyways, another rule. Original ideas only. I mean, not dissing on anyone who makes an RP based off a TV show, but those kinds of RPs dont seem to last long

That's not really a rule XD (None of what I said actually.....cept maybe the Nick part)

I mean while its true that they dont tend to last long (at least not yet), youre perfectly allowed to post them.

Here it is, if you can think of anything else, feel free to suggest it.

    Name:

Race & Homeland: (Not available at the moment, but it can affect the cost of certain things)

Combat Equipment & Skills: Four Slots from the combat section

Utility Equipment and Skills: Three Slots from utility

    Physical Description:

    Personality:

    History:

When it comes to starting equipment, each piece of gear will take up a number of slots, and some pieces of gear might not be useful without others Each player must begin with clothing, lest ye break laws of public decency. Feel free to describe your items in detail if you want.

    Combat

Dagger: The first is free, but one slot per dagger afterwards

    One handed Weapon: One Slot

    Focus: One Slot

    Shield: One Slot

    Two Handed Weapon: Two Slots

    Ranged Weapon: One Slot

Light (Robe, Jack, Regular Clothing): Free

    Medium (Leather, Chain): One Slot

Heavy (Plate, Scale, Lamellar): Two Slots

    Animal Companion: One Slot

The vast majority of magic requires some sort of focus to cast.

    Fire & Ice (Two Slots)

Uses: Control of warmth and cold. However, both they can only work with what is there. When creating a fire, a pocket of cold is produced due to focusing the heat into one area. When forcing water into ice, a wave of heat will also be produced before.

Typical Focus: Runic Tattoos, Staff, Wand

    Luck (One Slot)

Uses: Allows the caster to control probability. This ranges to something as simple as flipping a coin, having the wind aid an arrow's flight, or something as comical as someone slipping. When taken to its greatest of extent, it can cause terrible misfortune.

Typical Focus: Gold Coin, Jewelry, Rabbit's Foot

    Sorcery (One Slot)

    (Magic)

    No Focus Need

Use: Alter the currents of magic throughout the world. This allows the player to reinforce the spells of others, prevent enemies casting, or even overload a mage’s power, sometimes fatally.

    Beasts (Two Slots)

    One free animal companion

Use: Allows the bearer to take on qualities of their pet, be it a bear's strength, a wolf’s senses, or a serpent's flexibility, as well as growing claws and fangs if needed. Also allows the mage to control one animal at a time, seeing through their eyes and controlling their movement.

Typical Focus: Animal Bone, Staff, Bestial Mask

    Storms (Two Slots)

Use: Allows the bearer to control both the wind and and lightening, creating both at whim from the palm of their hand.

    Typical Focus: Staff, Ring, Spear

Utility (Each takes up one slot)
    100 Crowns (Money)

Climbing Equipment (A set of hooks, ropes and crampons)

    Mount (A horse or pony)

Persuasive (Whether through good looks, cultivated charisma or natural charm, people are more likely to do what you want them to.)

Intimidating Presence (Perhaps you’ve just got one of those faces, or the way you stand, or you're a heavily armoured psychopath, people have a tendency to think twice before going against you.)

Noble Birth (Child of a lord or knight, cannot be taken if Illiterate)

Friends in Low Places (Friends with criminals)

Friends in High Places (Friends with various nobles and merchants)

Herbalism (Able to make potions and poisons from herbs)

First Aid (Stops bleeding, slows poison, treat burns)

Illiterate (The character cannot read or learn magic apart from the School of Beasts, but gains one extra equipment slot. The character can learn during the RP of course.)

I blinded one character and took another's magic away from them permanently. They hadn't even got to the guy who was going to tell them the main plot.

Now I want to create a game with a man named Nick who goes unharmed through the entire game, only to get shot in the knee in the epilogue.

Would anyone be up for a more fantasy game to go alongside the sci-fi one we have going?

Heroic fantasy. Considering that RPing is about the player characters it makes the most sense.

Anything, I'm bored as hell, I'd do my own RP... but I've done so many, and only two have lived to be completed, and the one that I started here... *Looks at the burning wreck that was once an RP* Well... let's not talk about that one.

I'll have to pass on this one. Fantasy just really isn't my genre. Sorry.
