Romance plots

    I've written good romance before, some of my readers thought I was a specialist at it. Well, I think I just got lucky, because nothing could be further from the truth.

    What do you do with two romantic characters who don't believe "falling in love" exists, with an author who believes the same thing? I'm having difficulties developing a romantic sub-plot that's interesting. I was planning on making the female lead play hard-to-get to make sure and test the loyalty of the male lead, which of course could be frustrating to the male who knows that she's the only one for him (quite literally!).

    as with anything else, writers should stay away from subjects and/or situations that they have no knowledge of, or experience in... which does not mean one can't learn enough by doing research, observing, and asking others, to pull it off successfully...
