@doggiedude comes here to talk about writing. His grammar questions aren't idiotic. They're the reason this forum exists. He's here to write, not to argue, not to pontificate, not to debate, not sealion. You may be thinking to yourself, "So, you're saying I'm basically not a dick? Um, I guess that's a compliment." It is, bro, in the same way that in the desert clean water is more precious than gold.
I am a fairly open minded guy. But I just don't want to break anyones heart, ya know. I don't even have a cool accent (but I can pretend), just a short skinny guy with a deep voice, long hair, and blind as a bat. Though to say that anybody is 100% straight is a fallacy, everybody is a little gay. After my marriage ended, I made up my mind that marriage is not for me. Instead adopted the philosophy that if two individuals can make a relationship work with out all the extra glitz and glam (but great for tax purposes). I must say that I am flattered, to say the least. And I have my suspicions that @Tenderiser is itching to bake a fancy cake. (Putting frosting on a bottle of rum does not a rum cake make.) Well now that I have babbled about all of that nonsense for a long enough. Willing to give this whole thing a trial run (so to speak), just because I am a curio guy. @Oscar Leigh I hope you have a fast car, cause I have always wanted to have a go at playing Mad Max. (Well at least I can pretend)
I'm not sure how many affectionates I have here, since I can be a serious a-hole if triggered (or having a bad day.) @Link the Writer is a wonderful fellow. @KaTrian is great. @Cave Troll is hilarious, and @Chained is the same. @Lewdog took my mancard, but I still love him intensely (it's the hair). @Oscar Leigh and @Seraph751 are also good fellows. There's plenty of others who are terrific folks, but I'm terrible at names.
I feel I should mention that what made me have a positive impression of this site initially, were various comments by @BayView. Previously, on other places and one of the reasons I left one site I spent a fair bit of time on years ago, were the attitudes of many vocal 'writers' had on the Romance genre. And more specifically, derogatory comments towards 'formulaic' romance novels. My opinion will always be, a good story is a good story. I could care less how people go about getting there. It was encouraging to me to read stuff from BayView and I am not saying she is a proponent of formulaic! Only that it was important to me that a respected member in this community was proudly representative of the Romance genre. As a life long reader of romances and an aspiring romance writer, this made me feel immediately welcomed.
@Cave Troll your sense of humor is wickedly awesome, thank you for the many laughs and both you @Shattered Shields I thoroughly enjoy the back and forth conversations that just seem to build themselves with the both of you.
@Daniel I just wanted to say a thank you to Daniel for having this site. I've been wandering around the internet world, looking at other writing forums and there's some major trash out there. This forum has a well-organized splash page that makes it easy to find everything.
Is it okay to leave a hug for someone not here? Because if yes, I want to hug James, my great buddy in writing and a partner in crime. I am thinking of you, wherever you are out there! Have a good one! I am glad that you are back in one piece!
The same The same THE SAME CHAINED IS THE SAME. I think i need to take a break from WF for a while...
DON't YOU DARE!!! @LinnyV .. our @Chained wants to hide/hybernate/whatever. Tell him he is not allowed!!
I think maybe @Chained is just upset he is "the same". He doesn't want to be cookie cutter is all. Just tell him he's a weirdo, a first rate freak with a sense of humour only zombies would laugh at, if they could laugh... That should keep him happy @Lifeline. ;-)
But the bed is calling my name... which is actually pretty terrifying. Time to burn those sheets, that mattress, and maybe the house. That's the nicest backhanded compliment anyone's ever given me
@Cave Troll Now that's a bio intro line (if it were to be one) that'd have me read on. Endearing. Does that count for me then? Saying something good about someone.
I was thinking about @Oscar Leigh today when I dropped in. Recently, I've bumped into a few lively young people online and having lots of laughs with them. Yeah, yeah, I am a bit of an ageist. I really don't spend much (any) time with people under the age of 25 in real life (not including children!). Anyway, a lovely girl has me rather absorbed and I enjoy chatting to her because she is such a wonderful young person, but then it popped into my head... Oscar is wonderful too. Suddenly, I just wanted to say something, so it has be here. So Oscar, thanks for making WF such a warm place. I noticed you have a never ending supply of likety likes that you generously share. Where do you get all that candy? Oh well, you are very sweet. hehe Lotsa love, Linny
What's this @Oscar Leigh , how come @King Arthur gets to see your beautiful legs and we (WF) don't?! What's with the favoritism? I demand a pic with said legs posted here. You can crop it at the knees thanks. We don't do porn on this site. Oh god...can someone shoot me today, the stress is making me totally creepy and weirder than normal.
