    Publications for College Students?

Discussion in 'Traditional Publishing' started by wolferz, Mar 2, 2009.

Does anyone know of any publications or ways for a college student to become published? Maybe not anything big, but perhaps something small to put on a resume or job applications. Or perhaps scholarships

I have some short stories that I would like to put out there, I am just unsure of how to. Anyone know where to direct myself to?

    Wolferz,

I guess it depends on the subject matter, but for short stories, if your local college doesn't have a magazine, you would simply submit as any other writer does, to publications (magazines/ezines/anthologies) that accept the type of work (short stories) you've written.

You can check out my webpage here ( ervin-author Markets page ) that has links to a variety of markets (nonpaying to pro rate) and also a link to a page that has about a dozen search websites to consider/choose from.

Hope this helps and good luck.

    Terry

www.duotrope.com is the best listing site for publishing venues...

and, as terry said, college student or whatever, you just do what any other writer does, who wants to be published... submit your work to appropriate publications and cross your fingers...

If you're under 20, you could try submitting it to Teen Ink.
