I didn't like the last short story selection, either, which is why I didn't participate. I'm busy enough that I'll participate in things like this when I have an interest in the selection, but won't devote the time to it apart from that. Just a matter of too many things to juggle as it is. I also agree that a month is probably too long (ironically, given my schedule). People will tend to drift and lose interest over that time period when the actual task of reading the story takes so much less time.
