Theme: "Sliced Bread" courtesy of @lustrousonion

Contest story entries can be found HERE.

We have six entries in this contest. The winner will be revealed in ~two more weeks and the winner thread will be stickied until the next contest's winner is crowned. No more entries are allowed in this contest.

Entries are listed in the poll in the order posted.

Voting ends in ~two weeks, Sunday, Apr 5, 2015 ~6:00 pm Pacific Time.

I encourage authors to vote. While it is controversial, it remains acceptable in the short story contest to vote for yourself. I encourage you to vote honestly. In the name of good sportsmanship only vote for yourself if you have read all the other stories and given them your honest evaluation.

Consider how the author has responded to the theme, as well as the quality of the writing and overall impression of the story in making your decision.

Read for pleasure, learning, and to vote.

Three of theses six stories deserve first place. I'm going to have to re-read them one more time. Couple more days to vote, folks. :)

An hour and a half left, still time to read the stories and cast your vote. There are a couple of really fun stories here.

And the winner is, @Sethypoo98! I'll get a winner's thread up for you and @Wreybies will get you your medal soon.

It's fun to turn anonymous off to see who wrote what. It was a close call for my vote between Lancie's, Feeding Time (got my vote because it fit the theme better) and DeadMoon's, Ghost in the Pumpkin. The stories were tied for me with the better treatment of the theme making the difference.

I also thought the @Sethypoo98's winning story was well written. The ending made it less predictable, the last line great.

The other stories were well written. The quality of the writing of all these short stories has been excellent for months. My issue with the other two was just that the stories themselves missed the mark by a hair, but the writing didn't which was very good in both.

Thanks to everyone for your participation.

The next theme is "Dream Home", a submissions thread to be up soon. And if @Sethypoo98 will PM me with a theme I'll let everyone in on it.
