    Short Story Contest # 183
Theme: "A Cup of Tea" courtesy of @Tenderiser

Contest story entries can be found HERE.

We have 8 entries in this contest! The winner will be revealed in 2 weeks and the winner thread will be stickied until the next contest's winner is crowned. No more entries are allowed in this contest.

Entries are listed in the poll in the order posted.

Voting ends in 2 weeks, Sunday, Jan. 3rd, 2016 ~6:15 pm Pacific Time.

I encourage authors to vote. While it is controversial, it remains acceptable in the short story contest to vote for yourself. I encourage you to vote honestly. In the name of good sportsmanship only vote for yourself if you have read all the other stories and given them your honest evaluation.

Consider how the author has responded to the theme, as well as the quality of the writing and overall impression of the story in making your decision.

Read for pleasure, learning, and to vote.
Make someone's day, vote for their story!

Ahhhh, it was so hard to decide between two of these stories, one simple, one complex, both excellent stories.

An hour left, still time to vote.:agreed:

And the winner is somewhat new member @Blighters with When The Skies Are Grey. I think this one had one of the best takes on the theme as well as some nicely expressive writing.

Second place was the interesting story, Redneck Tea Party, by @Jeff Countryman, another newer member in the community.

My second choice and coming in third was @BookLover's Tea as a Form of Rebellion. I liked the simplicity while still reading as a complex story.

Time got away from me over the holidays which is probably why the voter turnout was low. All in all an excellent contest.

Congrats @Blighters! I loved your story and voted for it. I could practically feel the pain your MC was going through and when that happens you know you've done a great job as a writer.

Great job, @Blighters! Your story was wonderful. The seeming madness of the character, her heartbreak and desperation, and the ending? Very well done. Definitely pulled me in! A deserved win. :D
