Apostrophe usage question for resume please help!

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by grammerwhatis, Aug 1, 2013.

I know your suppose to use an apostrophe when referring to a Bachelors degree in a possessive context. For example, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, but you leave it out if you’re spelling the degree out such as Bachelors of Science in Biology. I am writing a resume and for a bullet point in the qualifications summary section I am listing “Bachelors degree in information technology.” My question is since I am not saying “I have a Bachelor’s degree in information technology,” leaving out who it belongs to by not saying “I have” do I leave out the apostrophe or not?

Well my degree title is Bachelor of Science in Network and Communications Management
I don’t want to be repetitious and say the same thing as listed in my education section. I want to just say “Bachelors degree in information technology” or “Bachelors in computer networking.”
