    Sig Studios Progress Journal

Discussion in 'Progress Journals' started by Sig Studios, Aug 30, 2016.

    Grass and dust progress journal

A comic still in development but also very fleshed out, Grass and Dust (Sig Studio's first story) will probably go into a lot more depth progresswise than most journals.

Currently we have a lot of different Arcs our main protagonist will go through. These arcs have been mostly expanded upon but if we're learning anything, it's that stories need interesting things in between cool scenes. We haven't made any character designs yet but we both agree generally on what our protagonist looks like. Right now we're in the middle of Arc 0 pt 3. Along with going to college, we've got our work cut out for us, but we both agree that this is for fun first before anything.

    Pros/Cons:
    +We enjoy what we're doing
    +Our characters are pretty solid
    +Both of us can draw
+We have complimentary ways of writing
+We're both pretty creative with scenes both visually and with writing
-We have college to work around as well as this comic
-Motivation and progress is a necessity for us so we'll have to work extra hard just to stay interested
-We're drawing on a new medium so a lot of research will have to go into this
    -We're beginners

    Grass and Dust Update #2
    10/21/2016

After a long hiatus, we're happy to say we've got the ball rolling with Grass and Dust again. We have about 11 fleshed out arcs that we need to actualize and now we're in the decision making process of furthering the story or simply ending it where it is and writing shorts about it afterwards.

We've also decided to create a meaningful prequel to Grass and Dust that won't be as long but it'll be just as important in world-building.

We want to be more public about our story when we have enough material to make releasing it it to the public an easier feat. (So probably about 2 arcs)

There's a lot for us to do with character appearance as well, but writing-wise, most of our characters are completely fleshed out with backstories.

Next week or so we'll make another update.

    Grass and Dust Update #3
    10/31/2016

At the moment we've written part 1, and half of part two of Arc 0. Realistic dialogue is our main issue currently but we've made leaps and bounds more progress as we slowly get into the headspace of our characters.

There are character profiles now going into thorough detail about personalities and backstories and it's made it a lot easier to write them. We recommend it.

Recently we've gotten into acting out different scenes and recording them. It's remarkably effective in gaining the feelings of our characters.

We've also been working on outfits overall for each character. We've gotten close to what the main character will wear but it's not conclusive just yet. It's been a lot of fun these days so I hope we can keep it up.

    Another update will come soon.

    Minor update:
Not much with execution has gotten done this week but we've decided to create a club at our school based on acting out some of the scenes in our story in the hopes of finding something interesting. Currently we've got a poster ready to put up soon.
