So we have Donald Trump running for president....

Discussion in 'Debate Room' started by Lea`Brooks, Jun 16, 2015.

Donald Trump Announces Run for President

    I just.... I can't.... I can't form words. My mind can't process this.

I've been watching his speech (airing live right now). And he has a little speck of something white at the corner of his mouth. And I can't focus on anything but that.

So all I've heard is his idea on trade. I'm sure he has other ideas for how to "make our country great again." But trade and bringing in more money to our country isn't enough. There are so many issues in our country right now that he isn't even addressing. Gay marriage, abortion, the middle/upper class. I guess I'll keep watching and see what his stance is.

But if he wins... I'm moving to Iceland.

UPDATE: He wants to repeal Obamacare, build a wall between Mexico and the US (and make Mexico pay for it), take down ISIS, make our military so strong that no one can push us around, prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, terminate Obama's immigration order, and fully support the Second Amendment.

Making Mexico pay for a big wall along the border?

I literally laughed my ass off. The Mexican government have just seen that and went 'Errr ... no, that's not going to happen'.

I don't like Trump specifically. I hope that he does not win. But I hope that more businesspeople run for office! That would be a nice precedent. Bloomberg.

Yup. I'm literally typing what he's saying as he's saying it. So yeah. lol He's basically saying, "Mexico, this is my idea. But I'm going to make you pay for it." That's going to ruin any relationship our country has with them.

UPDATE: He also wants to end common core (I don't know what that is.. Something with education?), rebuild the country's infrastructure, save Medicare, Medicaid, and SS without cuts, renegotiate foreign trade deals, reduce our debt, strengthen military, and take care of vets.

Speech just ended. He didn't touch on anything I mentioned earlier, and those things are incredibly important to me. I definitely won't be voting for him.

He should support the 2nd Amendment, and I think Common Core has been a bit of a mess.

Apart from that, he's a loon. He'll never win.

Do you guys usually get comb-over screwballs running for President, or is this another symptom of the world descending into madness?

lmao A guy on CNN just said, "Don't underestimate the Castro-esque absurdity of what we just endured. This speech was 50% about how rich and successful he was . . . That was about as unhinged street theater as you're ever gunna see. It gives clowns a bad name."

And no, Lemex. Typically, we have politicians run for president, not rich, egotistical businessman.

Actually, I don't see much of a difference now that I spelled it out... XD

Trump has run a few times now, so I guess this qualifies as "usual." :)

Living in America must be great at times. I was watching it on Fox, laughing my head off at everything he said.

I suppose it's funny if you aren't personally affected.

    Haha, I bet!

Oh, if you were half serious about emigrating from the United States. I have a friend who has tried to (for some reason) emigrate to the UK for some time now. Not many places seem happy about accepting Americans for work visas for some reason, ever since the whole Crimea thing at least. :/

It's a symptom of the loonies on the right (and that is only a few, not the majority on the right) supporting their fantasies. That anyone was there cheering at Trump's announcement is evidence. They have an imaginary view of the world, and it is particularly prevalent in Trump's beyond-unrealistic declarations.

At least our right-wing are happy enough clubbing homeless people, people who look foreign, and teenage anarchists to care about this sort of thing.

Our right wing fringe went through that phase a couple decades ago. Just wait until yours matures. :p

At least Rupert Murdock isn't going to run for PM any time soon. He'll get accused of being a pedophile any day now.

He's never announced, this is the first time he's actually thrown his hat in. My only hope is that he makes it in to the first GOP debate on Fox News. They're only letting in the top 10 polling candidates, so we have to pray that republican voters are stupid enough to make that happen. Right now it's looking like he'll have to be more popular than Santorum, which is going to be very difficult for him.

At least some of them anyway. Chris Matthew's joke about the clown car is apropos.

Yeah, both. The only two I get the sense might actually mean what they say are Rand Paul and Lindsay Graham, and that's based on what little I've seen of them (and I wouldn't support them, regardless, though I agree with Paul on some things).

Of course, on the Democratic side, Sanders is probably the only one who can be trusted to mean what he says.

I had to turn it off after the bigoted statements about Mexican immigrants being rapists and drug dealers and people in his audience were cheering. It was nothing but a right-wing nutter* rant.

Who shows up at a rally energized by Donald Trump?

And, as an aside, the bad genetics really skipped over that daughter. Lucky for her.
