    So, what's your poison?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by JoetheLion, May 31, 2016.

The drinking writer is an old stereotype, but everyone likes a glass of something. What's your favourite tipple?

I have a deeply unfashionable liking for sherry.

Alcohol has never been my drug of choice. Given the opportunity, cannabis for me, please.

Cognac/Brandy, but on a hot summer's day there's nothing better than a cold beer.

(cue people telling me what's better on a hot summer's day...:) )

Red wine for me. I like the blends best, because they often give the wine-maker more latitude in creating flavor profiles, and because they're generally cheaper.

I'm going to have to agree with @Wreybies I'm not much of a drinker and I don't like coffee or cigarettes. But I'd be hard pressed to turn down a bowl of high quality bud.

Steel Reserve malt liquor, preferably in the 22 ounce tall boy. Fairly smooth for the genre, cheap and 8% alcohol. You can sign me up for the weed, too.

It depends on the weather. In warmer weather, I prefer beer. In the cold, I like whisky.

I love drinking chartreuse. That was before it got so damn expensive.

Pretty sure I've built up an immunity by now... Err high tolerance level.

Mmh, I drink almost everything besides vodka and Irish whiskey.

Depends on my mood and if I'm at a bar or home. If I'm finishing off the night may go an old fashioned or Manhattan. Shots tend to be tequila. Whiskey double neat, low - high end. Whiskey ginger w/ well. Swtch between bourbon and ryes. Love rum, just not much around where I'm at. Gin I'm picky with. Scotch has three options; neat, chilled glass, or ice sphere. Moonshine.. Mmh.

I've always had a higher alcohol tolerance than most people. I can hop 5+ bars in a night. Few drinks at each. Haven't drank much last month or two, but sure I'll pick it up again soon enough.

I will drink damn near anything. Though I prefer to keep things simple, because getting to pretentious gets costly. Though I would have to say between a couple of tall bottles of Guinness, or Wild Turkey 101 with cherry Coke, I am a content fellow. Though I do enjoy Mickeys 40s and Becks 4-packs.

Personally, I enjoy a nice rum and coke... or five. Though, I must say, I'm more addicted to a good cup of coffee!

I`m under the drinking age in the states, and while I am old enough for tobacco I don`t take advantage of that. I could have actually picked those up years ago back when my family ran a general store, easy enough to swipe things from behind the counter at night but I never saw the appeal. Same with pot but I do drink way more caffeinated products than is most likely healthy so caffeine that`s my posin Jim.

Weeeeell, technically it's not legal for me to drink, but if I could I would have to say good ole rum and coke. One because rum is awesome, and two, I can pretend like I'm a pirate.

Of course, this is all, you know, hypothetical.

But cannabis is much more fun. But of course, that is also hypothetical.

    Wow, so many fellow stoners!
I've actually worked out, through careful experimentation, my ideal sherry to weed ratio, just enough to feel fantastic for an evening without either spinning out or falling asleep watching Bob's Burgers repeats. No good for writing, though, makes my brain wander off. :D

    My poisons:

    Laguntas IPA
    Scottish Claymore Ale
    Titan Pale Ale

On occasion, when I feel like having a lighter drink, I have a Sam Adams.

My best friend would appreciate all the cannabis fans. I've tried it a couple times, and it honestly does nothing to me. It's like I'm immune. Haha.
