    Something To Think About

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by Cacian, Dec 15, 2011.

Do you ever think or have you ever thought that your story might one day might come true?
This is taken from the same lines as:
    Dreams can come true?

Iwas reading your other post about the affair.
Is that something part of a dream?
I personally do not transfer my dreams to books because then I would become reliant on my dreams to write.
I get inspirations from my imagination and the world around me because I know it will always be there.
Relying on dreams can get tricky just in case one day one might not be able to dream anymore.
So there is that element to consider.

the story idea did truly start in a dream but the plot gained a life of its own as it dose.
i dont relie on dreams to write i just dream something and if i like it it fines a place in a book if not i keep it incase it ever fits.
love having and imagination it is so much fun.

how old were you when you first started writing?
Because I think the theme you have chosen in the other thread about 'adult content' is quite a big topic to be writing about.

    I understand you know.
15 chapters is quite an achievement.
See what I wrote in your other thread.

If most of my stories come true, we're all in a world of hurt.

would you say that all the hurt that is in your stories is more or less something you have seen/watched/experienced/learned.
In other words is the hurt you are talking about something new?

I seriously hope not. I'm writing about the end of the world.

Although, I might be following a little too closely to certain predictions and scriptures.

    *fingers crossed*

No, I haven't, but I wouldn't mind it too much if some of them did. Just to see how good I did with representing the characters (if I could, in fact, meet them), maybe to travel to some of the fictional places in my stories to experience them with more than my imagination, or maybe even become someone important in the story itself since I'd have that "inside" knowledge about the world and events :). Of course, if a lot of my stories were to come true, I probably wouldn't last very long if I pursued to become a part of them :).

I'm not trying to be rude, but you should probably start putting some of your threads in The Lounge. I think most would agree that General Writing is mainly for the "process of writing" i.e. tips, approaches, etc.. This is more of a conversational topic that, to be honest, clutters the sub-forum up for those trying to find more critical topics.. Once again, not trying to be rude. Just speaking my mind.

No, it is just that my stories tend to be dark and have horror elements in them :)

I understand but your horror elements are taken from some sources you have read or seen right?

    excellent point, nic!

    cacian:
...as you can see, this thread fits none of those parameters... as is true of some [many?] of your other threads that more appropriately belong in 'the lounge' section...

...there's no law against being curious and asking questions, no matter how odd they may be to others, but this is a site for those who are serious about writing, so the sections devoted to discussing the technical aspects of writing should be kept free of irrelevant topics... which is why 'the lounge' is provided for such...
