Going on about 5 months here, I can't believe I used to have such a ridiculous habit. Although reading about "so and so lazied by the fire, the embers of his pipeweed illuminating his face" makes me want to take up pipe smoking.

Congratulations and keep at it. Toothpicks can't hurt if you really need to chew on something.

    Yes tooth[picks are great.

I often bite one in half and chew on the half for an hour or two.

    They're great help.

Oh and cograts on 5 months man. Well done!

Speedy, I just want to say good luck and well done.

I am, sorry.... I was a smoker. I quit a while back, but ended up smoking again. Now I have quit again and this time, I won't be picking the habit back up. I've great motivation not to! So for me, it has now been 2 days since I last had a cigarette and I am feeling really good for it. I want one, I want one badly, but I haven't caved in as yet and trying very hard not to as well.

So well done to you Speedy on 8 days. I am proud and you should be too. Another good thing is carrot sticks or celery sticks. It sounds daft, but it does work. It is how I was able to quit for 1 year and not once fall back till I was rather drunk and foolish... sigh! But I am going to try the carrot and celery sticks again myself. I'd rather have either of them hanging out my mouth than a cigarette anyway. At least the veg is good for me! :p

Just one thing - do NOT try to light up the veggie sticks. Not only does it look and smell awful, it's truly sad. ;)

I'm very glad i have no money on me right now because i'm so stressed about something else that a smoke would be the best thingi n thw world right now.. Very very stressed.

I hate having to wait on things when your stressed. Hopefully the "issue" will be settled tonight.... but gooddd darn!

Edit - actually, i think i'll be okay. I just took a few deep breaths. I'll be okay. I hope.

    You're doing great Speedy :)
and I'm sure everything will be ok
I know this quote and I think it's both slightly funny and true "everythign willl end up all right in the end, if it's not alright it's not the end"
    maybe that helped? ;)

Finding other outlets for stress is crucial to quitting. Otherwise, every time you feel stressed, and stress is inevitable, you will be sorely tested.

    I dodged an A-Bomb tonight.

After the football with my mates the misses picked me up.

FOr some reason she was annoying my like never belief (yet doing nothing). I got home and i was just angry and annoyed and frustrated and i snapped. I yelled at her and told her to give me one of her smokes (Using the F words all over the place).

She never gave me any and i couldnt find them

If i had, id have had one, i was that angry, I may have had the whole packet

I dodged a ****ing bullet big time.

If so, you'll still stand a better chance of surviving surgery and anaesthesia with your improved blood oxygen content.
