    Stalking

Discussion in 'Research' started by AHewlett, Feb 13, 2013.

    Hello everyone,

I've come up with a new story idea which involves stalking as it's main theme. I was just wondering if anyone knew any information on stalking, or knows of any websites or books that I could use for my research?

I've been trying to find a program I watched ages ago that's set in LA about stalking, either celebrities or general people. So yes, any information, links, etc. would be wonderful.

    Thank you.

Have you googled anything? Because there are tons of sites out there about stalking, including victim's blogs, forums, etc.

Well there's a film you could watch. It's Christopher Nolan's first film, called Following. It's not spectacular, but it may give you some ideas. The entirety of the film can be found on Youtube.

    Hope I helped. :)

I've Googled 'stalking' in general as well as 'inside the mind of a stalker' but nothing much came up. But I'll google your suggestions.

There's a new book out now, by a writing professor who was stalked by a student. I don't know if it will help, but you might want to check it out. It's called Give Me Everything You Have: On Being Stalked, by James Lasdun.

besides doing more creative googling than you seem to have done, go to www.imdb.com and put 'stalking' in the search slot for 'plots'... and do the same on amazon, for books...

With stalking (assuming you mean where someone is harassing the other person) it is a crime, but it's a unreliable crime. Like you have to have a lot of evidence to give to the police. Like documentation of what said person was doing the time things happened etc and usually it has to go on for about a monthish before they'll take action (now if the person who is stalking the victim makes a thread they'll act faster)
