I appreciate there are copyright issues, but when watching the film Aliens, the main character Ellen Ripley was told her daughter, Amanda had died two years previously. It occurred to me, it would be a great story, if Ellen had been lied to, and that her daughter was still alive and had built a life for herself, which involved looking for her mother. The obvious would have Amanda take off to find her mother, but a better idea, would be for her to have a career and then find out that Ellen was still alive

Just pointing out something. You do realize that in the movie Ripley had been in stasis for more than fifty years?
