    Stuck for Title

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by ILoveWriting, Feb 7, 2011.

I have not a clue what title to give my story. The story main is in 'Plot Creation' under the thread name 'Cool...Weird...Dumb but I'm still doing it'.

    Hope you can help!!

Do you have some titles in mind you cannot decide between?

If you post them, it may be easier for people to give feedback. :)

Otherwise my advice would be to let the title come to you, as you write. I've had that happen quite a few times. Sometimes ideas present themselves when you least expect it.

I, personally, don't worry about the title until I finish the story. Finish it. The title will come to you eventually.

I reckon (if the boy is blamed for something he didn't do ) the titles, 'I didn't do it' and ' Life's Unfair!' are good.

Some times an author has the title & is in love with it, only to have their editor tell them to change it.
Your title may come before you begin the story (like my current WIP did) or it will be apparent at the end.

I actually think the title for your thread works - Cool, Weird, Dumb, but I'm still doing it - kind of fits with the lad that got himself into trouble and sent to a reform school of sorts.

Yeah but it's not written 'by Cobalt' (1st person). Does that matter?

Nope, doesn't matter to me. I would stick with it if your target audience is the younger generation. Might be too hip for oldsters like me.

If you do use it, change it to this:

Cool, Weird, Dumb...But I'm Still Doing It!

I don't know I am still not happy about the title to my first book, nothing has ever stood out as wow that is what it should be.

Have him join the school choir 'Sing Sing club' and find his 'place' in society that way. Call it "I found myself in Sing Sing"

It's sorta like Glee, but for bad-boys.
