My current project has about 40% of the novel in 3rd person. I am going to shift soon into a 1st person perspective, which is actually a time jump backwards. (It makes sense in context.) When we come back to present, we will go back to 3rd, and end back in 1st (after the death of the character we've followed in 3rd). Does anyone have a good example of a sci-fi novel I could check out where a method similar to this works well? I've been reading the Outlander series, and it works well in that. I'm looking for other works to read also, specifically science fiction or fantasy. THANKS!
Urban Fantasy novel Black Blade Blues went back and forth between the protagonist's 1st person POV and the antagonists' 3rd person POVs, but that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
