WF Book Club Nominations for January/February

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by thirdwind, Dec 1, 2011.

I thought I'd post this thread a bit earlier than usual since the holidays are coming up. I want to make sure we have enough time to nominate books, vote, and get copies of the book we choose to read. So please post your nominations for the book club here. In addition to novels, collections of short stories and poems are welcome as well.

Here are a few more nominations from last time:

    Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
    High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy

If anyone has anymore suggestions, please post them soon because I'll be putting up a poll in a few days.

I always want to join in on the book club, but I am never able to because of everything I have to read because of school. Which is why I would like to nominate some of the books I am forced to read this semester, so I can join in :)

    M. Twain, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

    F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

    Alice Walker, The Color Purple

    J. S. Foer, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

These are the three I've got lined up for my holidays in January so one of them would do nicely:

Half Of A Yellow Sun - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Snow Falling On Cedars - David Guterson
    Enduring Love - Ian McEwan

Got a few suggestions that might be worth a look into:

    Horus Rising by Dan Abnett
The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks

Thanks, but you're a bit late. I already set up a poll where you can vote if you want to participate.

Be sure to remember those books for next time (March/April), however.

Ah, sorry about that, my bad. I will do.
