    It's like the US complaining about Snowden while ignoring the fact the feds are going after whistle blowers and reporters to suppress unwelcome political disclosures.

    This was always going to happen.

    It is the banality of the way in which our freedoms are stripped away that concerns me. You can imagine some lowly, desk-bound individual looking for ways to achieve some bureaucratic, tick-box quota on an unimportant issue; and finding that there is a law that can be adapted for their use, entirely contrary to its original intent. And in this depressingly tedious manner we sleep-walk towards Oceania.

    And when this issue is raised their will always be a hoard of Daily Mail readers who respond with "if you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear" like the flatulent half-wits they are.
