I posted at the same time you did. So all I have to do is edit walking into the bank lobby, if that is what you want?
Well its beginning to liven up now with people entering, lets get this RP on the road. Step one leave the mainframe and join the chaos hour.
So, you guys don't mind my control-freakiness with the Chaos Hour? It doesn't sound stupid or anything? I was just watching Serial Experiments Lain so my ideas are kinda Lainy right now lol
Mousie, it sounds pretty cool. I guess we can manipulate those beams a bit more later. And Teele, my character is about to meet up with your character. Does anyone want to, like, be partners or in the same scene or something?
Well, partners is one thing, but I'm really wondering for how long we're gonna be able to keep our roles secret. Spots are supposed to be killing everyone else inside Chaos Hour, lurkers are trying to do things they shouldn't, and really without some guidance, we're left to our own devices about these things. And I would also inquire about the possibility of changing roles in-game due to character growth. Excellent idea, and I'll participate and coordinate as much as possible, but yeah. I think it might be better if we had a regularly active GM to hand out missions and such. Anyway, rant aside, I'm gonna go have Ali say hi to you, Kratos.
to clarify for everyone else - the 'medallion' that my character has is a mainframe/download version of the 'disk'
LOL. I think we might have some opposing ideas of the Chaos Hour, what its like, and how its activated. I was under the impression the Key was a real life device that was activated on entry into the Com... Or maybe everyone else knows what's happening and I just missed the memo somewhere along the line.
no, teele... it's my fault. i don't think of things in quite the same way... my mind doesn't quite go for the normal conclusions. but hey, i think it still works out. no worries~! and sorry
Hey guys, if we had a gm maybe things would work better lol. Teele you mentioned something before of moving the story on.
Well, I can try to get us moving a little more fluidly, but first we need to agree on the exact mechanics of the Com and how the Chaos Hour works. First of all, the Keys: I was led to believe that they were real-world devices. Now, the question is, do these bring you instantly into the Chaos Hour when you log in? Or do they manifest as Com objects that must be 'activated'? Secondly, what exactly does the Chaos Hour give us? It grants us our power, yes, and apparently opens up other things that normal users cannot do. This would manifest in the form of new buildings; corporate headquarters, government institutions, etc. I would think that it essentially has the same 'look' as the standard Com, but you can exist there indefinitely, and it is more expansive. Finally, what is the exact nature of 'the mainframe'? I would imagine it would be an administrators' interface; maybe a room in which different objects are manipulated, and the positioning thereof controls the state of the Com. Heavily gaurded, of course. Let me know what you guys think.
if the keys are to be activated, how do we do so?... i'm more on board with the real world device theory... everything else seems okie doke to me...
Just lemme know what you guys are thinking for these things, and we'll come to an agreement. I've seen a few different ideas on how it should look/feel, and I'd just like to see what you guys are picturing in your minds.
Yea concepts in peoples mind seem extremely disjointed. Mousie i would advise reading the RP at this point peoples posts are extremely short so it doesn't take very long. As for in my mind i have taken the view that you can only enter the mainframe once wearing the helmet to leave the real world. From there you can activate the rogue coding and enter the chaos hour. I'll go with the descriptions prior however move on to say past the mainframe constructs of the gym etc stretches a vast empty mass in which anything can be creared via correct manipulation.
perhaps it would be easy to assume that anyone who is anywhere in mainframe or chaos hour is, in real life, got one of those head thingies on? like mike, i agree about it being a great empty space that can be manipulated. don't know how it's all gonna work, but hey, who does?
Just a minor thing Mousie do you mind toning down the swearing? I'm not that bothered by it but some people may be and in most situations it seems largely unneccesarry. Save it for situations where it has more impact if you feel the need to use em Yea theres an issue of god modding if i decide im going to make a building rise out of the empty space surely lol oh god i want to rewrite the laws on gravity and go to town with telekenesis. What was that? *throws building into someones face* So you was saying? lol
LOL! I'm coming more and more to the opinion that this thing is gonna need a resident GM to keep it afloat...
