    And Another Thing...

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by Xeno, Dec 9, 2009.

I'm quite a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fan and have read the first five books, however Eion Colfer (I think that's his name) has continued the series with And Another Thing... and I am not sure whether to buy it or not. On the one hand, Mostly Harmless didn't ring true as an ending for me and I want more, yet as it's a different author I'm reluctant to read it in case the series is skewered.

Has anyone here read this book?

I have, in fact, read none of them.

And now for something completely different.....

I honestly didn't care for the non-Douglas sequel. I mean this could be because of a devotion to the original author, but in general the writing wasn't as witty or flowing.

I had a similar experience with another author. The new author that continued the series definitely did not have the same spark as the original. She wasn't a bad writer, but it didn't feel the way it should have.
