There is a saying you can't judge a book by it's cover But lets do it anyway. What are your favorite covers.

For me you can't go past this one

Note: Couldn't find an image of the actual cover, but this is close enough. Use your imagination to fill in the title and authors name.

    and close second.

I also don't mind the covers for the twilight books, even if I'm not that keen on the contents. Something about them just exudes coolness. Breaking dawn, I think, is especially good.

I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to cover art. I love the mystery in the original Dune cover.

The inside is even better than the cover.

I like Todd Lockwood's interpretation of Drizzt and the other characters in his cover art of The Legend Of Drizzt series.

Much better than the horrible older ones.

I can't find a picture of the cover, but my dad has a really old set of The Lord of the Rings, and the covers for them are parchment colored, with maps for some of the places they went drawn on them. I loved those covers.

I absolutely love the penguin edition of Dracula for its cover. The white, black and red symbolise the gothic elements so well, and the over all prominant themes of the book. Also, it just looks really cool, and inviting. They've managed to modernise it without losing any of its key qualities that are crucial to its style.

I like the simple old-school hardcover books like this new copy of elements of style I picked up the other day.

It's just a vinyl-ish leathery looking cover with gold inlay lettering.

    So simple, so awesome.

My favorite covers would definately be this one

    and it's companion

both are so intricate, everytime i read the books i notice something new about them; I actually have a puzzle of the first one, it's really cool

also the covers of the Inkheart series, particulary Inkspell and Inkdeath

And all these books happen to be fantastic books!

I love these covers because it illustrates right on the cover the theme of the novel, which is the perceptions we have of people and how wrong they can be sometimes. I didnt understand the significance when I picked up the novel, but after closing it after the read, I felt like it was an extra treat. :)

The cover symbolizes the book so well, how everything just collapses and shatters after the Swede's daughter bombs the building.

Just a simple politician who turns corrupt, and is killed. One of my favorite books. :)

They say you should never judge a book by its cover, and this one is a good reason why. It looks like it'll be a very clever, entertaining parody, right? Well, it wasn't. At all. But that cover probably helped to sell a ton of copies.

I loved that book! Its like two of my great loves--classic literature and zombies--finally brought together. It's not intended as a parody of the original (obviously, since for the most part it uses the original text), just as an awesome twist on a classic novel. Although they really need to stop now...Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was a genius idea, Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters is pushing it, and I don't even wanna know what they're planning next...

Personally I thought it was a tacky way to make cash quick. I can't really be bothered to buy into that kind of thing.

Ah, that book was one of the only books I could get my friend to read, I am personally thankful for it. Boy needed to read something.

    . . .

And at least it wasn't Twilight, I can't be bothered to buy into that kind of thing.

This one is great because of the look on that boy's face.
This one has very beautiful artwork that shows the character's eyes nicely.
This one because it's got a girl with a punk rock sense of fashion and she's about three inches tall.

Yosh!taka Amano is one of my favourite modern artists, and this cover is a most definite favourite.

And Laszlo Gal's cover for this version of The Little Mermaid is just beautiful.

Both books have exceptional art throughout, actually. :)

I always loved the UK cover for Dragonflight:

And a book by a local author (which I really enjoyed) had a cover which was what first drew me in.
