This second sentence just got me stuck..
"Not until the steps of the unholy bathed my bloodied feet all the way to the actual gates of Purgatory."
...The steps bathed your feet?
At first I thought I must be wrong, and bathed also meant carried or transported...but I can't find that in a dictionary. Am I misunderstnding the usage here?
Oh, I have the word bathed, and know what it means...just not in that usage, it osunded like you were using it in such a way that it meant your feet were moved or carried.
Hmm, well, all I can say is the term bathed certainly doesn't make me think of sinking. it makes me think of either sitting in water unmoving or little waves on the feet. But whatever floats your boat ^.^
