It's still there. But even more interesting: there is one on the screen on the opposite side of the office. I've been flanked. I believe they call it the pincer movement. Bu da tsh.

I Can't! The first mantis has vanished, and I do not know where he has gone. I am afraid the offensive has begun. The ground shakes...drums, drums in the deep. We cannot get out. The shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out. They are coming...

Nuuuuuuu!! ;___; We have lost a beloved member to the mantis-assassin. Before long, within a decade, Earth as we know it shall become... The Planet of the Bugs.

I wanted to say a very big thank-you to the forum members who were so kind and supportive towards me, regarding the outcome of the Scottish referendum yesterday. I was totally gutted, and really appreciated the kind words on the threads, in PMs and in a couple of cases emails and blogs. I feel happy to have made friends here, and their good wishes made an awful day bearable. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I'm feeling slightly better today, and taking a rest with a slightly more optimistic outlook for the future. Anyway, thanks a lot. Much appreciated. :friend:

@jannert - I'm sure the unprecedented number of people signing up with the SNP will lift your spirits at least a little.

I'm having a channel Andrae day. I fell on my face on my new-mowed lawn. Actually, I just enjoyed it from the lawn chair after I mowed it.

I sure wish Andrae was still around. His openness and sincerity really kept the air clear around here.

Best breakfast I ever had was in Idaho, at a B&B. Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes with syrup, steaks, biscuits and gravy, cereal both hot and cold, corn bread, cracked wheat toast, honey butter, syrup, jam, etc. etc. etc. jeez. Everything you could possibly want and more! You could pack away 3500 calories at breakfast and still want more.

    YUM!

Dare I ask what 3500 calories for breakfast looks like? You know in terms of squat burn?

When you eat a big breakfast, you have to get rid of it. We humans achieve this by squatting. If its a lot of food, it can hurt, even burn.

Thank you for that. I need to practice my squatting. My technique is, I think, behind the times.

How many squats (repetitions) to burn that many calories? Sometimes that thing called full and complete sentences eludes me.

A ridiculous amount of squats. I'd run if off. You'd be screwed then too. I guess it's a good excuse to work the maximus, though.

@minstrel, @PensiveQuill , @Swiveltaffy - You know, the image I put together in my head of FOOD=SQUAT=BURN was not a pretty one.

Glorious fall weather, trees turning on the bluffs, a day off, and my dog. Days like this are a sliver of the divine, simple and perfect in their own small ways. This is a place where I know peace, what happiness can truly be. This is the world wherein my muses dwell.

Just spent over two hours watching The Punch Brothers clips on YouTube. My god I love that band! Big smile on my face.
