Why Did You Choose Your Signature?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by pyrox91992, Jul 30, 2007.

just state y u chose ur sig and if its not in english translate.

    ill go first
the english part is just part of one of my favorite songs, and it reminds me of someone...
the french part is la suffrance est bonne, elle montre que nous sommes humains, which means pain (or suffering) is good, it shows that we r human, and that is stating my machosistic side, for je suis l'amoureux de douleur(i am the lover of pain, or pain's lover)

Ah, I was going to quote a tearing comment from one of my stories, but ran out of space :p But anyways, I listed my current works just so that people might want to know more about me. No self-praise, forgive me :)
I have an old signature which stated:
    I know i'm wack
    I know I'm weird
    I know I'm different
    I know i'm crazy
    I know I'm me

I guess you should warn others about yourself

Mine is a quote from my favourite poem. I would have put the whole thing, but it's The Wasteland, and it won't fit. Basically (I think) it refers to Robert Falcon Scott's team in the Antarctic. Alternatively, it could be a reference to the Road to Damascus. I'm not sure. But it sounds cool.

I saw the quote on a comment to an online article. I liked it so much I decided to use it.
I change my signature every few months, once I get bored of my old one, or find a better one.

Mine is in three parts. The first part changes occasionally, and the current quote has to do with my reviewing philosophy (actually kind of my life philosophy too).

The second is exactly what it says - shameless promotion of my web site.

Finally, I added the third part when I requested Reviewer status, so members would know to request a review from me.

First part - Poem by Pasternak that I've loved for a really long time. (I think it's from My Sister Life, but I'm not entirely sure).

Second part - A quote by Vonnegut that I also love. (Ironic, lol).

I like my signature, it is part of a poem I wrote not long ago and basically it says that no matter what I will always puch people away and people will always run when I do so.

The last bit is due to the fact that I am a reviewer as a few other members are around here and want I people to know that all they have to do is pm me to give them a review.

I thought I'd add an extra line. A cookie to the first person who can tell me who said it, when, and to whom :D

Well, usually the people who admit to being insane are significantly less insane than actual insane people.

Course because insane people don't actually know they're insane so technically by proclaiming one is insane one is actually sane.

the first part of my sig is one verbose way of saying 'be concise and don't babble'; the way its written I found comically ironic.

the second part of my sig is basically a quote from this guy at school..

    Him: Oh nice hair *sarcasm*
    Me: Are you wearing blush?
Him: Yeah, do you love it?

Doesn't all of the insane business constitute a Catch-22?

    hrm. most likely.

Then again 'insane' is such a loose and ambiguous term.

It's a flexible concept, probably why it's so easy to use in comedy.

Hehe, I'm tempted to, for ingenuity Heather. But you'd need to to tell me who originally said the bold line in my signature :p

My signature is a futile attempt to get people to comment on my ideas, the second part changes on a fairly arbitrary basis. Then again, everything but the link changes in the first one. I think I'm going back to the opening narration of Law and Order SVU; cause that's like, the best show ever.
