Hot damn. I think I've earned an emotional breakdown. Anyone know where I can find a cave to wallow in for a few months?

Gonna have to stay up all night writing an essay I should have finished weeks ago. I am never going to let myself get this behind on schoolwork again.

That's basically where I got that name. Caffeine works by blocking adenosine receptors in the brain, adenosine triphosphate is the body's energy currency, and caffeine gives you energy...

I go through this highly repetitive cycle of experiencing insomnia from small amounts of caffeine taken at 9 AM, slowly becoming accustomed to it, and then quitting for a while because my tolerance gets too high. I'm in the middle stage right now.

I could use some receptor blockage right now. Unfortunately there's no caffeine in my house. I'll have to make due with groggy eyes and zzzzzzzzzzz

A bit fluish, and Rue is clinging and fussy. He knows I don't feel good.

Have you ever had an internet friend you hadn't spoken to in years because you had lost interest in a forum the two of you were a part of? Have you ever returned to that forum only to find out that the friend was now dead of cancer? Because that just happened to me. I went back to the old history forum to check on the going-ons until I found out that one of my friends on that forum had died earlier this month of cancer.

I really don't know what to say about this. :(

I'm sorry to hear that. It's very sad to hear this, even if you were "only" online friends. It's nonetheless a loss.

The forum is in mourning now, there's even a special thread to talk about the things he liked to talk about.

Sorry to hear that. I know I feel quite connected to many people on this forum and I would be very upset to hear that about any of them. Online forums are a new way to make friends, and being online doesn't really diminish our feelings for them. Sounds like he was a popular guy.

Mailing live animals internationally is probably a feliny felony.

@Darkkin, this is obviously a great opportunity for you to practice your skills with blow-darts tipped with sedative drugs. Keep us posted!

Another school shooting, 2 kids dead, a couple more critical with head wounds and it looks like the shooter-kid was just suffering the usual teenage angst, not the bullied/loner, not the unpopular, not bad looking... Just access to a gun when he was going through a stupid kid phase.

I saw a livery van swipe a bicyclist while walking home today and screamed. The guy was clipped and skidded, but miraculously got up without any visible injuries. I was frozen and the guy didn't seem to want us to call 911 or the police. So I advised him to go see a doctor and to get the van's license plate. When I walked off he was taking a photo and there was another pedestrian there offering advice.

His helmet definitely saved him. I wonder if I did enough. What's the protocol for these things? Does he need some sort of official record if he needs his bike repaired or finds an injury later?

You did fine, but next time if you can, leave your name and number with the injured party as a witness if needed. Sometimes they need witnesses later if the guilty party denies it was their fault and the damage only becomes apparently later.

Also, if you have a mobile with you, you can grab a shot of the lorry and/or its tags. Your photo will also probably record the time. If there is any need to serve as a witness, that can be helpful.

I know this is one of those problems of the over-privileged, but I like to watch football on Sundays and tomorrow one of the games is being played in London. Usually the early games start at 10am here in California, which is a nice comfortable time to sit in front of the TV, but because this game is in London, it starts at 6:30am. I have to get up stupid early on a Sunday! I know the starving Ethiopians and the war-weary Syrians will be bawling their eyes out for me, but damn.

Things like this totally screw up my weekend drinking schedule! :(

Of course, but I have the sports fan's dilemma: I could record the early game to watch later, but I also want to watch the afternoon game, and the announcers will tell me how the early game turned out during that broadcast. If I don't want the early game spoiled for me by the later games, I kinda have to watch it live. :(
