Found an interesting article on Richard Hatch and the original Battlestar Galactica, here: http://nerdist.com/appreciating-richard-hatch-and-the-underrated-battlestar-galactica-78-movie/
He had a great run. I've waited on him before. A bit of a dick, but one hell of a guitar player. RIP.
I debated whether to include this, since I'm not sure how many will recognize his name, but then I remembered this is a writing forum, and Jimmy Breslin won a Pulitzer.
Great guy, Don Rickles. I worked his dressing room a few times at Foxwoods . Big tipper, down to Earth, called you by your first name and insisted you use his as if we were a couple of regular dudes shooting the shit. I even helped "carry" him piss drunk back to his hotel room once in 1999. Poor guy was wandering the high roller lounge like he had no idea where he was. Even then he was cracking jokes as a casino host and I made sure he didn't fall down in the elevator. Rest in peace, brother. You were one of my favorites.
J. Geils. Yeah, I know there are a lot of you shaking your heads at this one. Who? Gotta be of a certain age. I really wanted to post one of the "Centerfold" videos, since that's my favorite song of his, but they ranged from quite racy (surprise to surprise) straight to just lyrics, with nothing in between. Oh well.
I wasn't familiar with him until @Homer Potvin mentioned it, but since he did: Charlie Murphy (brother of Eddie Murphy) The family resemblance is strong:
Notable? Sure, he did as much to shape the image of Americans overseas as anyone else. Clifton James, aka Sheriff JW Pepper, has passed.

Gabriel García Márquez, author of One Hundred Years of Solitude (Cien Años de Soledad), who received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982, left us on the 17th of April, 2017.
Oh, shit, never mind. Seems I fell prey to some social media glitch. There's even an article about this story circulating around this past week. http://gizmodo.com/social-media-erupts-in-tributes-to-novelist-gabriel-gar-1794589677
Sorry 'bout that. As you can imagine, I was thrilled breaking the news: 'Neh, neeh, neh, heh heh...' This happens quite often tho,' eh?
(gasping with a hand up to my face) Wait, I knew that. I toasted Jose Arcadio Buendia (and Jose Aureliano and Aureliano Jose) when it happened. (shakes head, resumes writing)
