... or tea? Now that I'm kind of stuck in an office situation, I sometimes get some coffee. Here in NOLA, they put a pinch of salt in the grinds before brewing it - they say it takes the edge off. Salted coffee isn't bad, though. So, anyway, I take my coffee with a decent amount of sugar. I find milk/creams in drinks very off putting. My hot teas I drink straight or with honey. my iced teas with a pound of sugar... mmmm sweet tea! (that's how we do it in the south!) But if I'm at starbucks, I go for the iced americano with a generous shot of vanilla syrup~ waaaay better than iced coffee and actually a refreshing drink. when i go in there, though, it brings back memories of my barrista days... and the fact that i can tell almost to the very second how long a shot took to pull (lingo translation: how long the espresso took to 'brew')... is not a skill one generally can put on a resume... So, how do you take your coffee?
I'm not really sure of the terms and what-not, seeing as I usually make my coffee myself at home. I'm still in a process of elimination trying to figure out what the hell the coffee that I like is called at a coffechop, like starbucks. I usually get an iced coffee there. Once my friend bet me $1.75 that they wouldn't give me the brownie in the iced coffee... They did =D (I knew the girl who was behind the counter at the time ;p). I ended up with one soggy, soggy brownie '-_-.
this might sound gross to everyone, but it is actually freaking good stuff. Take a pouch of hot cocoa mix (Nestles Dark chocolate is good) and put that in your cup and then pour the coffee over it. mix well. I like to add some French Vanilla. Better than Starbucks in my opinion!!
Have you ever worked in a restaurant? That mix was a favorite in the steakhouse where I worked with all of the servers. It was a good way to keep going during the rush. Caffeine + Massive dose of sugar = Very fast server!
No, I've never worked in a restaurant. I just thought it sounded good. I love it...borederline addicted to it. Damn me and my addiction to caffeine!
Starbuck's coffee is overpriced and just plain awful. The first part of that is universal to Starbucks, although the second part may simply be poor quality of the local Starbucks stores. Still, I have had their coffee from many different locations, and I have yet to find ONE that softens my opinion. I drink mostly French Roast with cream, or sometimes black. I also enjoy double espressos, thick and black. And I do make mocha the way Kizitaly makes it, except without the French Vanilla - I prefer the French Roast there as well.
Generally, I dislike coffee, but I was once in a Starbucks and I tasted a caramel machiatto. I ordered one with ice. It wasn't bad, and I still order every now and then.
I only really drink tea, and it has to be with skimmed milk, but not too muc of it, and not too strong so that it tastes like old tea. Like a caramel colour.
I luff my tea milky with two sug's. and a lovely chocolate biscuit or five. Most likely 10. Sod it, the whole packet.
I don't drink coffee. I know. Shocking. I love tea though. My favorite is Earl Grey (English Breakfast a close second) with milk and sugar (or Splenda). Before choir, I drink mint tea straight to open the throat and give minty fresh breath for singing.
Caffeine has no effect on me. Years of heavy cola drinking has dulled its effect to the point that I get no "rush" from drinking coffee. I have to be almost dead tired to feel any kick, and even then it's only a light buzz and passes in about five minutes. Same goes for energy drinks. On the flipside, I seem to be good at getting anergy out of nowhere. I'm notorious for catching a second wind (and a third, fourth, fifth, tenth, etc) when it seems like I can't go any further. That being said, the cafe in my school library makes a good "Autumn Chai Latte" that I get from time to time, either iced or regular, depending on the weather. It's basically a caramel latte with some cinnamon sprinkled on top and a little whipped cream to top it off. And waaay cheaper than Starbucks.
Im another coffee avoider! I just don't like the taste, though i like how it reminds me of airplanes I loooove tea, milky with two sugars and biscuits on ze side.
At Starbucks I like their White Mochas. I don't like hot coffee its nasty. And a White Mocha taste good with soymilk. At home tea, with only 2 sugar lumps. And that's it, nothing else. I like to make my own home made Green Tea Lemonade as well. Heat the tea up and put some lemon juice in there....mmmmmm yummy.
My grandpa liked to save what was left of his morning coffee in the 'fridge and have it on ice with sugar and milk along with his dinner. I never could get down with that. I like Dark Roast Maxwell House with Splenda and Irish Cream.
My coffee must be black, no sugar. Preferably French roast in a percolator, not a drip machine. Tea, whether hot or iced, I drink unsweetened. Semi-rant follows. Starbucks does not serve coffee. They serve coffee-based desserts. If it has whipped cream and caramel syrup, it is either foreplay or dessert. Not coffee.
I'm lactose intolerant and hate soymilk, plus I don't like cream that much anyone, so I just have it with a lot of sugar. The main reason, besides the taste, for me drinking coffee is to keep my awake when I'm writing or working on something, and cream really takes the edge off of it. I used to drink it with milk, but it didn't have the same effect.
