never read them but I wondering about the sparkling bit - I have a character who has flame-blue skin that flickers when highlighted by a candle or bedside light, I am a bit concerned I have a sparkly avatar lol Can someone tell me a bit about how the sparkling works ?

Meyer's vampires sparkle when they're exposed to sunlight.

I agree with you, but for the sake of paying Devil's Advocate, what marks King's work down? What is it about other, 'great' writers that excludes Stephen King from any list?

I happen to agree with your sister and I have read books by the thousands can reel of everything from my favourite deep classical literature works to my favourite sillouette and Mills and Boon.

I think your answer to Forkfoot rather made your sister's point. Stephen King is a good writer because he is popular as is Stephanie Meyer or someone like Inez Kelley.

    Melzaar,

    Yikes.

Wow that's even worse than I'd thought.

    Ew.
