Is WF sporadically going offline on anyone else?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Montag, Jan 15, 2008.

Three times in the last couple of days I have tried to come here, or have been browsing here and I suddenly get a 404 page, for around an hour or more.

It's not my internet connection, cause I can acess all the other forums I go to, it just seems to be WF. Anyone else notice this?

    Edit: Just happened again.

yeah, it happened to me about five times last night- the homepage refused to load or even show for that matter. Everytime I tried getting onto this site I was immediately transferred to writingforums.com.

Just another thought, maybe it only happens to Australians, haha.

Yes. But I only get it for like ten minutes. I also believe its a problem here because along with this my loading times on this site inparticular have become longer than they should be. WF.com, GameFAQs, and A Marathon Forum I frequent rgularly have all reamined normal while my connection here seems to be getting worse.

Well, last night I couldn't get on for half-an-hour as well. I think something is going on. (perhaps the internet is going to permanently crash due to video overload!)

It has happened to me quite a bit throughout the day today... at least 5 times today.

It's definiately taking place on the server side, but I don't know how well the cause is known yet. It occurs primarily at certain times of the day, so it is probably connected somehow to server load. However, WF.org's traffic should not be high enough to result in this kind of performance impact, and it doesn't peak at the busy times of all the time zones where we have concentrations of members, either.

There is a thread in Suggestions and Feedback dealing with this, and if you have useful information about the behavior that might help nqarrow down the cause, That is a better place to post it. Lpspider regularly monitors the Suggestions and Feedback forum, and is more likely to see relevant information placed there.
