I'm going to be out for the majority of the day, so make Danny do something daft but well meaning if needed. Thanks!

    REAL NAME:
    Nyrallavi Xenzhaeris
    (pronounced Near-ah-lah-vee Shen-zaye-err-iss”)

    ALIASES:
    Nyr the Huntress
    Nyr the Destroyer
    The Sandman

    AGE:
Unknown, her species is extremely long-lived

    GENDER:
    Female

    CATEGORY:
    Mystic

    POWERS:
    1) The Right Hand of Ruin: When channeling this power, Nyr’s hands (not just her right hand, despite the name) become capable of cutting through anything. This power is a gift from the god of war and works by destroying matter on the molecular level, leaving only dust in its wake, which has earned her the nickname “Sandman.”

    2) One With the Sword: Nyr’s power can be channeled into any “weapon” she is holding, turning ordinary sticks or staffs into deadly cutting implements. In her hands, even a dull blade can slice through solid stone. Unfortunately, this power rapidly degrades the object, causing it to corrode, become brittle, and eventually crumble to dust.

    SKILLS:
Extremely proficient in the use of bladed weapons, hand-to-hand combat, and tactics. She is also a highly trained survivalist, tracker, and a decent pilot.

    APPEARANCE:
Nyr is an alien from the planet Tymar, hundreds of lightyears from Earth. She is average height, with a slender, tight build, tuned for efficiency. Her skin is a reddish-lavender color, with dark purple markings like warpaint or the stripes of a venomous serpent. She has sharp, aggressive facial features, dagger-like elfin ears, and her “hair” is a mane of black-tipped tentacles which hang nearly halfway down her back. Like all Tymari, she has four eyes: a normal pair, like humans, and a higher second pair, only used in low light situations (and usually kept hidden under a blindfold or headscarf). She wears a form fitting black bodysuit made of a metallic scale material and an assortment of blades on her hips.

    WEAPONS:
Nyr uses a bespoke weapons system consisting of a pair of hilts and over a dozen interchangeable blades which can be swapped on the fly. The various components hang from her utility belt and the sheer amount of sharp pointy objects dangling from her hips gives the impression she is wearing an armored skirt. Because of her power, she tends to go through swords rather quickly, so she has engineered a way to “reload” in the heat of battle.

    OTHER:
Among her people, Nyr is regarded as a paragon of the god of war, which basically means if that god ever chooses to take physical form, she has the potential to serve as a vessel. To maintain her status, she came to Earth to prove herself against Earth’s best warriors: The League of Heroes. She has challenged them numerous times, both individually and as a group, and through repeated losses came to respect them as honorable, worthy adversaries. She disappeared a year ago to train and planned to return and finally defeat them. When she received news of their death, she rushed to Fortress City with thoughts of vengeance.

I'll let you guys decide what the security guard does and when/if he goes to Silhouette. I gotta go soon and will be gone most of today, so I wouldn't recommend interracting with Nyr just yet (unless you like waiting, LOL).

But I'll be around most of tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting you all then. I'm loving this story so far. :)

I love Nyr and she hasn't even interacted with Silhouette yet, lol.

Also, I would like to go on the record and say that we would have found a way to take out the USB stick without Tim's help. Not saying that Tim's contributions aren't appreciated, but that was a pretty minor challenge compared to...you know...everything else they've gone through so far. Tim could be doing a lot more. And he must not know anything about Silhouette if he doesn't think she's the "thinking type of superhero". o.o'

I'm just going to point out that Tim's an idiot for he most part. If not for his own belief in his incompetence, he'd probably be a henchman for a villain.

I think of him as The Deus Ex Machina guy who was just walking his dog and happened to fix things without noticing before wandering off.

His hero symbol should be that emoji that's just a straight face.

A person does not have to risk themself to have dangerous things happen to them.

But if he isn't taking a risk, how does he figure out he has powers? Otherwise, he just happens to be there when things happen. How could anything be attributed to his presence?

He doesn't have to take risks to prove he's got luck or probability on his side. There have been other characters in RPs on this site with similar powers. Lucky Bastard in the Hero Complex RP had the same power, as did Ace in Pirates of the Lost Treasure. The former won the lottery multiple times, LOL. I think there comes a point when a little light goes off in your head and you think "gee, I'm pretty darn lucky," without having to jump off a cliff to see it.

As I've written in a previous post, he wins a steady 12% profit when gambling. It's a few little thing as well.

I've never heard of those, unfortunately.
But gambling, though, even the lottery, is a risk. Granted, possibly losing a few bucks on powerball tickets isn't a huge risk, but it's still a risk. To make the jump, though, from "I got lucky" to "distorting probability" takes a bigger risk, with a much higher likelihood of spectacular failure.

Imagine if for five years of your life, you always made a profit at a casino. Every time, and it was the exact same percent each time. Surely that would come across as weird to you?"

Guys, let's not rag on Tims power. Instead, let's find a way to make him useful.

I'm sorry if it came off like I was picking on Tim. It definitely wasn't my intention!
I was just trying to get a better understanding of the character. It kinda seemed like he was missing a trick, not putting his luck powers to use doing things others wouldn't dare. But again, that might be a good subplot.
