    Weaving in Greek Mythology

Discussion in 'Research' started by Hero-Jean629, Sep 26, 2011.

I'm doing a story about weaving involving a character of Greek decent that mixes in with mythology, I know some weavers that include:
    *Penelope, the wife of Odysseus
    *Athena, the weaver goddess
*Arachne, the woman that was turned into a spider after a challenge with Athena
*Moirae, the fates that controlled destiny on a weaver

I'm mostly looking for mortal women in Greek Mythology that have been famous weavers but goddesses and others are fine too.
I know what ancient weaves from Greece look like but I'm not exactly sure how it would work. Any ideas on that too?

Famously, Ariadne also weaved her way into mythology, giving Theseus a ball of red thread to find his way Minotaur's labyrinth.
