    Vehicles of magic flight?

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by Wallflower, May 25, 2013.

*Edit* Ignore this, please, I didn't realize I was babbling like an idiot until after I put it up here for all to see.

The internet needs a list of normal things that would also be
convenient if you could fly on them. Like the broomstick, rug, umbrella, car, bed etc.
I need all kinds of ideas :)

It can be silly or practical but it's got to be something that
wouldn't ordinarily fly. Like a lazyboy chair or bathtub.

All I could think of was a canoe, or a large opened suitcase?

    What?
You need this list, or the internet does?
And you want a list of things that wouldn't ordinarily fly like a lazyboy chair or a bathtub as opposed to cars and beds that would ordinarily fly? But canoes and open suitcases are a good start?

Sorry Wallflower, I think I've missed something...

Either I've missed something or you are not trying at all to create a list... Mattress, car, mop, rake, sofa, bathtub, towel, bicycle, Skateboard, SurfBoard, ROLLER SKATES, LAUNDRY BASKET...

Sorry, I submitted this too quickly I guess.

I was the one that needed the list originally, but when I searched the net for a pre-existing list that someone else compiled I saw that there wasn't one. I thought it was weird because it would be a useful thing for other writers so I posted this to make one. So both actually, to answer your question.

What I was asking for what this: Say you could fly on any object, right? What would be the most convenient?
Like the broomstick, rug, umbrella etc but those have already been used in fiction. (Witches, Aladdin, Mary Poppins)

So I was asking for a list of other things that could be used in instead.
A canoe would be practical to fly on, or I thought maybe an opened suitcase. If these objects could fly, I mean.

I apologize, I'm new here and terrible at explaining.

I'm sorry everyone, I don't think I'm making any sense. I can delete this thread, right?

I think it might be easier compiling a list of things people wouldn't find convenient to fly on (if everything could fly) like a vertical fork or a sausage covered in Vaseline.

You have good intentions, but Really, anyone could come up with anything. To that end, you are likely to have the same ideas as many of us. Don't feel bad. B)

Sounds like something that you, the writer, should figure out yourself. Like how JK Rowling made a car fly, you can make anything fly as long as it follows the rules of whatever world you're making.
